Most compliance functions answer with documentation. Here is our policy. Here is our certification. Here is our audit. Here are our records. The evidence is real, but the question wasn't about evidence. The question was about trust — and trust isn't transferred by paper.

Trust is earned by operational capability. An organization is trusted when it can demonstrate, in practice, that it manages its obligations, keeps its promises, integrates compliance into how value gets created, aligns its strategy with its execution, and operates as a working system that adapts as conditions change. When any of those is missing, the documentation can still be produced — but the trust can't.
